Rising Star has been working with synthesizers and electronic music since 1978. He uses a wide variety of electronic instruments and synthesizers of many different technologies, but also uses many natural instruments like native american flute, rain stick and bells.

Star presents a completely original and innovative approach to sound , composition and music:

Star composes, performs, and records completely live, straight from the moment, without the use of pre-sequenced or recorded materials. This gives his work a unique lively organic and natural quality rare to be found.

In opposition to conventional music, Star's work bases on energetic sound fields, their complexity in dimension and transformation over time.

Star loves recording sounds from nature as these elements offer naturally harmonic essence from which to create his work. Many of Star's nature sound recordings are
recorded binaural (full representation of the 3 dimensional sound space).

Almost all synthesizer patches and all samples are custom created and come from Stars own sound design. Star modified several of his instruments and custom designed several interfaces and devices.

Star has a background in electronics, engineering, sound design and multi media and has a long standing interest in how sound energy enhances our awareness. Stars main focus and intention with his creation though, is less an exploration of technology, but to create sound experiences for daily life situations that explore and challenge how we see, perceive, and understand reality.

Star's intention in his work is the exploration of energy, which he thinks to be central essence of all existence. Transformation of energy shapes reality. Star's main interest is in how to direct the flow of energy in our lives, coexist with it, and shape it by means focusing awareness and by conscious decision. To offer a tool for more awareness on how to create ones own experience with more consciousness is the purpose of his creating.

Each CD is generally a journey of experience in itself, each of a different nature. Each journey may touch down in many different genres during it's quest. One track may be New Age, or venture into space music. Almost all of Star's creations have one thing in common though: they are created as sound scapes, which Star describes as field of sound energy, or sonic landscape, which stimulates imagination and imagery due to its non linear and organic timing and energetic composition. A track also may depict the energetic change of such sonic landscape or describe a journey through different energy fields. Often Star's music is described as cosmic music as it involves complex energy fields where components interact with each other much like events unfold in real life or in cosmic landscapes out there in space. Imagine the fusions and energetic transformation of matter somewhere in space, as we might observe through Hubble Space telescope. Star's work strongly generates these images and demands placement into the genre of planetarium music. As Star's composition bases on energy fields contrary to conventional composition, which bases on timing and sequencing of themes, the genre ambient music, or trance music without rhythm often applies in completely new ways. Star's work sets the stage, creates background, the mood, or ambiance to transform the listener's space into an environment for imaginary experience, that is perfect for meditation, sensual experience, visual experience hence placing Star's work into the genres of meditation music, film music, or atmospheres. Many healing professional have discovered these qualities and through usage of his recordings in their therapeutical work moved Star's work into the genres of: sound healing, music for personal growth and sacret space. Star's composition may also touch the genres of ambient background sound, or sound effects, when Star's work depicts elements of energetic nature less musical. Yet his work can be understood as background sound for events and creations where the main focus lies on another subject of attention, like exhibits, or music for events. Due to it's visually suggestive , serene and expansive qualities Star's work fits perfect to set the moods in film and video reaching into the genre of film music, or sound track, especially for when thematic changes ar more emphasized. When these elements enter subliminal and expansive qualities, Star's work can be describes as music for astral travel, or transformational music, which again touches genres embraced by the healing professions: sound healing and energy work, Some tracks of Star's composition base entirely on drones. Nature sounds, are of immense importance in Star's composition, as they often provide the basic energetic concept from which to unfold complex sound work. It's a paradox. People often think if louder something gets, the more power it has. This music thrives on minimalism. The quieter it is, the more it reaches deep while it intends to be an inspiration and space for you to return to your own inner being, fully vibrating in your own rhythm and thought.
