Priority is often on a long term relationship with the customer, not on fastest profit. • Store owners and workers have pride in their work. • Dollars spent in local stores remain in the local comnity. • Wages and benefits paid to workers are more fair - Happier people arround me makes it easier for me to be happy! • Stores specialize and carry specialty items that mass stores don't carry due to "not enough volume" • Highly educated sales people - Most small bussines owners know their product in great detail - minimum wage sales force doesn't • Local store owners love their store and their work! Chain store staff works a job with little personal fullfillment. Everybody deserves fullfillment and a good life! • It is great to know your local store owner personally and to be known by them. • A much better selection in specialty and small item merchandise because small stores specialize! Often you don't have to buy a ten pack when you just need one! • Emphasis on quality items whose brands are often unknown to mass stores. • Local bussinesses are part of the local comunity and care for it. Money stays local as opposed to the empowernment of our local comunities milked by coporations. • The lowest price isn't worth lousy customer service! • Competition for lowest price lowers the quality of life in general and all goods manufactured and sold.
